阿明检查旧电台的设备。他发现一根很粗的电线没有接上，线的另一边通向山上的天线。
“这不是坏了。”他说，“是有人把它剪断了。”
三个孩子去找修理电台的顾叔叔。顾叔叔看了电线，脸色很难看。
“电线太旧了。”他说。
阿明问：“可是这里有剪刀留下的痕迹。”
顾叔叔没有回答。他拿起工具，走到门外。过了一会儿，他说：“不要把过去带到今天来。”
小雨第一次觉得，顾叔叔不是不知道答案，而是不想说答案。
