小雨回到照片里的地方。下河街已经没有房子，只有一条窄窄的路通到河边。
河水看起来很安静。可是石头上有一条很高的水痕，水痕上面是灰色的。
何爷爷正在附近钓鱼。他说：“那年水来了以后，河水就是这个颜色。”
陈可问：“洪水为什么是灰色的？”
何爷爷看了看远处的水坝。“那天不只是下雨。”他说，“但是我没有证据。”
他收起鱼竿，告诉孩子们不要把这句话告诉别人。
