发电机在旧电台下面。王老师说那里很危险，但是允许孩子们在门口看一看。
他们没有找到发电机，只找到一个铁盒。铁盒里有一本旧笔记，封面上写着“何远，水坝维修工”。
何工在笔记里记录了很多数字和时间。他写道，六月十六日晚上，南门的压力已经很高；六月十七日下午，他把报告交给了委员会。
最后一页只有一句话：如果他们不打开北门，下河街会有危险。
“北门不是南门吗？”阿明问。
何工的笔记说明，打开北门可以让水流向山后的旧河道。打开南门，水就会流向下河街。
小雨把笔记拍下来。陈可没有说话。她一直看着“委员会”三个字。
王老师合上铁盒。“现在你们明白了吗？这可能不是一个简单的错误。”
