HSK 3 Chinese Stories

At HSK 3 the investigation becomes serious. The children ask Uncle Gu (顾叔叔), an old repairman, about the tape, look for the missing master recording, compare the names on the town memorial with old newspapers, and hear Engineer He (何工) describe the report he handed over before the flood. Expect reported speech, cause and effect, and comparisons between documents. By the end of this level the children realise that the town's silence about the flood was organised.

The children now investigate the flood seriously. They compare documents, meet witnesses, and begin to understand that the town’s silence was organized.
